Dear all,

The GB9 Committee would like to keep players up to date with news, and therefore provide the following updates for all players:

– Finalised Dates: 19th to 21st April. 21st to 23rd June. 13th to 15th September. 18th to 20th October. 6th to 8th December. These dates are based on availability at Bradmoor Farm.

– Bank accounts are not yet opened, so deposits cannot yet be taken. We are working on this as soon as possible. Meanwhile, any previous deposits paid to the previous GB9 organisers should have been reimbursed by now. If not, please get in contact.

– We are in advanced talks with Premier Inn, Travelodge, DoubleTree, Ramada, and Holiday Inn to negotiate corporate bookings for players, to book directly with hotels and obtain some discount towards hotel stays. We are hoping they will provide a player code, and you will book directly with the hotel. GB9’s involvement is to only negotiate some form of discounts with the local hotels.

– For the purpose of transparency, we are finalising an independent accountant, who is offering an extremely low fee to manage the GB9 books and publish the 2024 accounts near the beginning of 2025.

– Tables are currently stored by Rich Saunders, free of charge. We are extremely grateful for his assistance at this stage. As you may remember from the previous constitution, the tables belong to the participants of GB9. Our aim is to sell the old ones and use the funds to buy new ones. We have been quoted a fantastic deal to buy Mr Sung tables, but lead times mean that we cannot have these in place for the first event.

We are working hard to ensure that we do not lose a penny from the purchase and sale of the tables, but improve the quality of the equipment players use during GB9 tournaments.

– We have to finalise terms with a key sponsor, but we are in advanced talks with a company who have been incredibly helpful and supportive. We will announce details imminently, and can assure you that we are working on different contracts on a daily basis.

Finally, we are extremely grateful to those who have reached out to us to offer support and assistance for volunteer work to manage the event, and/or help with services required at vastly discounted rates.
